
GRADUATE RECRUITMENT OFFICER-US LAW FIRM-CONTRACT TO £60K
Salary: to £65k plus great benefits
US Law Firm seek a Graduate Recruitment Manager to manage end to end graduate marketing, attraction and recruitment processes including:
·Liaising with the Graduate Recruitment Partners, Practice Group Leaders and the Director of Human Resources, Europe, Middle East & Asia, to set targets and criteria for recruitment
·Working with internal marketing teams to devise and deliver an effective marketing campaign, including: campus events, sponsorship and competition activities, print and online media advertising, graduate website and publicity related events
·Managing the bi-annual application form screening process for training contracts (c. 500) and vacation schemes (c. 300), ensuring that appropriate criteria are used for selection purposes
·Devising and running interviewing and assessment days for vacation scheme and training contract candidates, and liaison with interviewers
·Planning and delivering the Summer Work Placement programmes
·Management of cvMail online application system and statistics; over viewing diversity
·Ongoing liaison with future joiners and LPC elective advice as required
Career development of the Trainee Solicitors, which includes:
·Devising and overseeing the co-ordination of trainee induction and rotation seat moves
··Liaison with Manager of Training & Development to provide appropriate supervisor training, Professional Skills Courses and where required mentoring programmes. Ensuring that all training activities are coordinated and are compliant with the Law Society/SRA regulations and requirements
·Ensuring trainees receive regular feedback throughout their training contract via the firm’s appraisal process, attending meetings as appropriate
·Work with the Graduate Recruitment Partners and Practice Group Leaders to establish business needs for the seat move and qualification process
·Communicating decisions regarding seat moves and qualification to the trainees
·Managing the secondment of trainees to clients and internationally
·Ensuring ongoing communication with the trainees through regular face to face meetings
·Advising on all HR processes in relation to performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance
·Providing pastoral support to ensure the well being of trainees
·Working with the Manager of Human Resources (London) to set salaries for trainees
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
·Knowledge of the legal graduate recruitment market and understanding of HR procedures and learning and development initiatives having experienced at least 3-4 ‘graduate recruitment cycles’.
·Knowledge of the Law Society/SRA regulations governing training contracts/provision of training/supervision.
·Ability to communicate openly, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
·Ability to work under pressure within prescribed time cycles
·Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels
·Professional manner, personable and approachable but firm
·Previous experience of delivering presentations to large groups
·Confident and self-assured, inspiring and generating trust in others
·Committed and enthusiastic approach
·Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate both internally and externally
·Ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and discretion

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·Graduate (or equivalent level) education
·CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD qualification
·Graduate recruitment experience within a commercial environment, ideally legal
